Film Noir

Film noir is a style used to describe a certain look of film it was typically used in thriller crime dramas. Film noir is associated with a low key black and white visual style.

This image is a film noir, you can see this from the dark shadows and the bright white smoky light. This is a great example and I like how they have framed it, and the man almost looking like a silhouette with the minimal shadows coming from him.


This is a great image I love the man who is unrecognisable and the lighting is perfect for the scene, the smoke also ads to the image and creates that thriller feel that's well known in these films. This image and the smoke adds lots of mystery just in one image.


However I like the mystery of this shot and the small signatures its a woman with the bracelets and hair i just don't think this is as strong and with the background more in focus than the gun I find myself not looking at her hand but at the wall.
